This composite structure creates an all-in-one system that seamlessly integrates separation, filtration, and drainage functions.
Its primary application domains are vast, focusing on civil and environmental engineering projects where efficient fluid management and long-term stability are paramount. Key uses include:
Landfill Engineering:Serving as the primary leachate collection layer and as a drainage layer in final cover systems. This is its most critical application.

Integration with Geomembranes and Geotextiles in a Landfill System.
In a modern municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill, the HDPE Composite Drainage Geonet works in concert with geomembranes and geotextiles to form a sophisticated, multi-layered containment system, often referred to as a composite liner system.
A typical bottom liner system, from bottom to top, comprises:
1. **Prepared Subgrade:** The compacted natural soil foundation.
2. **Geotextile Cushion Layer:** A non-woven geotextile (often 200-300 g/m²) is laid down to protect the delicate geomembrane from puncture by sharp subgrade particles.
3. **Geomembrane Liner:** A primary 1.5mm to 2.0mm thick HDPE geomembrane acts as the primary hydraulic barrier, impervious to leachate migration.
4. **HDPE Composite Drainage Geonet:** This is placed directly on top of the geomembrane. The geotextile layers on the geonet protect the geomembrane from abrasion. Its core provides a high-volume drainage path with a typical transmissivity rating of **≥ 5 x 10⁻⁴ m²/s** under pressures of **250-500 kPa**, ensuring any leachate is quickly conveyed to collection pipes.
5. **Protective Geotextile Layer:** Another geotextile (often **≥ 400 g/m²**) is placed on top of the geonet. This layer separates the waste from the drainage layer, filtering out fine particles and preventing bioclogging of the geonet's core.
6. **Waste Mass:** The municipal solid waste is placed on top.
