Advantages of Geotextile

01/

Filtration performance

Geotextiles have good filtration performance, which can effectively prevent the loss of soil particles while allowing water and other fluids to pass through. By choosing different types of geotextiles and pore sizes, it can meet the filtration requirements of different engineering projects and prevent soil erosion and sediment accumulation.

02/

Reinforcement and load distribution

Geotextiles can form a uniformly distributed reinforcement layer in the soil, and increase the tensile strength and shear strength of the soil by dispersing and bearing loads. This enhancement effect can effectively reduce the settlement and deformation of the soil, and improve the stability and bearing capacity of the soil.

03/

Isolation and prevention of leakage

Geotextiles can be used to isolate different layers of soil or materials to prevent mixing and cross-seepage between them. For example, in road works, geotextiles can prevent mixing and contamination between base and superimposed materials.

04/

Drainage properties

Some geotextiles have good drainage properties, which can help quickly remove moisture from the soil, preventing problems caused by moisture accumulation and infiltration. This has important implications for maintaining soil stability, reducing hydrological stress, and even preventing groundwater from rising.

05/

Chemical corrosion resistance

Geotextiles can withstand a certain degree of chemical corrosion and can be used stably for a long time under different environmental conditions. This allows geotextiles to adapt to a variety of engineered environments, including chemical plants, landfills and agricultural sites, among others.

06/

Convenient construction and maintenance

Geotextiles can be customized and cut according to needs, and are easy to install and handle. They can be used in combination with other materials, such as soil, concrete and rock, to improve engineering efficiency and reduce maintenance and restoration costs.

What are The Types of Geotextile?

Woven geotextiles

These types of textiles perform the function of separation and increase the strength of the soil. As the yarn strength of their warp is much higher, they have more tensile strength. As a result, it is able to take much more load. There are various types of woven geo textiles like woven monofilament, woven multifilament, woven slit-film monofilament and slit-film multifilament.

Nonwoven geotextiles

In case of nonwoven geotextiles, tensile strength is not very high, but their Separation, Drainage and Filtration ability is better than others. Non-woven geo textiles are permeable geosynthetics, usually made by synthetic fibers. Thermal and chemical bonding are also used to make non-woven geo textiles. There are various types of nonwoven geo textiles like continuous filament heat bonded, continuous filament needle punched, staple needle punched, resin bonded.

Knitted geotextiles

These types of textiles have good flexibility and are economically profitable. Although its use is less, but the demand for “Drainage and Soil Erosion Control” is increasing day by day. Knitted geo textiles are made by using knitting technology, sometimes weaving is used to make these products.

Spunbonded geotextiles

In the world of fabric production, the spunbonded process is considered as the fastest production method for non-woven fabrics. During the process, the extruded filaments are cut into the belt and the rolls are heated and held together.

Braided geotextile

Braiding is generally used for producing narrow rope-like materials by interlacing diagonally three or more strands of filaments or yarns. The topology of strand interlacements in braided structures is similar to that of woven structures.

Applications of Geotextiles

Separation
When a geo-textile is installed between two different soils, the separation characteristics of the geo-textile play an important role. In this case, the geo-textile will separate the different components in order to achieve the required soil properties. The main purpose of using such geotextiles is to prevent the geotextiles from mixing with the soil when the water level reaches the soil.

Filtration
Geotextile is used to reduce water from both sides by filtration. This geotextiles can be oven or non-woven and prevent fine aggregates soil from moving between the soil layers. Geotextiles can be used for both vertical and horizontal applications, solving drainage problems around houses and along roads and bends.

Reinforcement
The geotextile can actually strengthen the soil or it can increase apparent soil support. The strength of geotextile depends on its design which is based on a few key factors.

Extraction
A geotextile fabric can block pitch or other solutions and is able to limit fluid flow in both directions. Contaminants can prevent soil or groundwater contamination above contaminated soils.

FAQ

Q: How are geotextiles specified?

A: Geotextiles can be specified either by a number of performance properties (e.g. tensile strength, CBR puncture resistance), function (e.g. separation or filtration), or trade name and grade (e.g. Terram 1000).

Q: Can geotextiles be installed underwater?

A: Yes. However, when installed in water the majority of geotextiles will float hence specific consideration needs to given to the installation method as this may, for example, require divers, methods to sink the geotextile, and bespoke lengths of geotextile to avoid jointing/cutting the product underwater.

Q: How can holes in the geotextile be repaired?

A: If the Installation Instructions are followed then this should not be an issue. However if required the best remedial measure would be to overlay the affected area with a ‘patch’ of the same product ensuring an overlap of at least 300mm around the hole/s.

Q: Can I change my order after it has been placed?

A: Yes, but amending an order may cause it to be delayed. If you chose an expedited shipping option such as 2 day or next day air, changing the order may cause it to ship out the following business day.

Q: How will my order be shipped?

A: Small orders are shipped through USPS Priority Mail. Larger items and orders will ship out through UPS ground. Jacketed conicals are shipped truck freight. Any order over $500 will require a signature for delivery.

Q: Can you send samples to me ?

A: Of course, we will send a free sample to you within 3 days.

Q: Do you do customize size ?

A: Yes, we can do customized strictly as your requirement.
